"riversitter" is a little of a peculiarity, in that it uses an unintended set of samples! early in the process, i accidentally opened a folder of samples from my personal listening collection instead of the main set of dance radio samples i've been working with. i only caught it once many of the early samples were set, and the river rushed from there!
it also includes quite a few samples from jewish nationalist dance music. for me, this song offers an alternative to that nationalist music, retooling those samples for a different story of community -- one that doesn't sing of "one people, one song" or a single collective goal.
